COLORSOFT | 3 The rug collections We are thrilled to present our largest ever rug collection. This assemblage of over 300 rugs and mats across 10 collections represents the culmination of 30 years of experience in, and love of, the carpet industry. This album was driven by a singular focus on reshaping the industry; to create the perfect rug collection. For our devoted team, each averaging over 20 years at DIEGO, this album was a passion project. We’ve poured our hearts into sourcing the best products from all the corners of our beautiful planet. But the publication of this album is only the beginning. We are devoted to the continual support of our customers, and development of our products. Our desire is not to react to trends, but to set them. Sourcing the rugs on these pages, and creating this album has been a highlight of our cumulative careers. 4 Our story DIEGO’s story begins in 1992 with the opening of our first store in the 19th district of Budapest. Building off of our founders’ background in textile engineering, the first products to be carried were self-produced car, bath, and door mats. The concept proved successful, and we expanded quickly. In 1995 we built our current headquarters south of Budapest, along with a few thousand square meters of warehouse space. We are proud to say that we established one of Hungary’s first franchise systems, and 29 years later are one of its’ largest. Our store count has grown from one location in Budapest, to over 150 stores in three countries, and our warehouse space to over 16,000 square meters. Many things have changed about our company in our almost 30 years of business, but essential to our growth has been the number of teammembers who have been with us since our early days, most for over 20 years. While we no longer selfproduce the products we sell, we have established relationships with the most renowned manufacturers in the world, from Europe to Asia. These longstanding relationships, along with the experience and passion of our team, allow us to have our thumb on the pulse of the rug industry. It is this over a century of combined experience, and our relationships with our manufacturing partners, that allow us to curate the most diverse rug collection on the market today, and we are constantly on the hunt for sources of inspiration. From Belgium to Turkey, India to Morocco, we search the world to bring you the best.

7 From design to delivery A rug doesn’t make it into our album by flip of a coin. Our process begins at the raw material phase. Whether it’s polyester or viscose or wool, our product developement team sits down with our manufacturing partners and ensures that we select only the best yarns for the products in our album. These yarns are woven into carefully crafted designs, created in collaboration with our partners, to reflect the tastes and trends of the various markets we represent. These designs come to life on the weavers looms, and multiple iterations of samples are checked and reworked before finally being approved for production. Once approved, the rugs are woven, carefully packed, and shipped to our warehouse, where they await final delivery as a centerpiece of a beautiful home. 7

238 Care & maintenance YOUR NEW RUG A new rug can be like a remodel without the sledgehammer. It’s one of the easiest and most cost-effective ways to refresh the look of your home. The more you follow the care and maintenence tips we’ve provided below, the longer your rug will last. ODORS Your new rug has been on quite the journey. After weeks in a sealed bag, the natural dyes and latex used in production may produce an odor that could be described as mildly unpleasant. These odors are completely harmless, and will dissipate within a few days once the rug is removed from its packaging. SHEDDING Don’t panic, you new rug isn’t falling apart! All wool rugs, and all tufted rugs, will naturally shed fibers. This will subside over time depending on traffic, wear, and maintenance. You can generally expect the shedding to be minimised after 20-25 vacuums. SPROUTING Loose fibers or sprouts are a normal part of the wearing in process with any hand-made rug. You may see them as what looks like pieces of thread stickingup above the rug surface. These raised fibers should be snipped off with a small pair of scissors. Please do not pull themout, as you can easily pull out more yarn than intended, and can damage the rug. FADING AND WEAR If your rug is in a room exposed to direct sunlight, the UV rays can fade the coloring over time. Unfortunately sunscreen is only for humans, so we recommend that you rotate your rug every few months to even out this effect, and balance the wear. M A I N T E N A N C E VACUUMING If you’re going to pick one maintenence tip to follow, have it be this one. Vacuum your rug regularly, (once a week), to keep dirt and other contaminants from filtering their way down into the base of the rug. Nothing will keep your rug looking fresher, and make it last longer, than routine vacuuming. When vacuuming your rug, use a SUCTIONONLY vacuum cleaner. Vacuums with a rotating beater bar can damage the rug surface. Try not to run the vacuum over the finished edges of your rug, as over time it can cause them to unravel. In the case that you do experience unraveling of your carpet edges, it’s not the end of the world. You can always contact our team for refinishing options.

Spills The severity of a spill is mostly determined by the material your rug is constructed with, and as such your sales professional will provide you with specific details, and the instructions provided here are general guidelines. The general rule is to aim to remove as much moisture as you can as quickly as possible. Blot up excess spills with a clean white cloth or paper towel, working from the outer edge in. Never rub a spill as this can spread the stain and damage the pile. If you are unable to remove the stain yourself, please contact us for professional cleaning options in your area. It is possible for dyed rugs to transfer color from the rug to the surface below. To mitigate this, we highly recommend the use of a rug underlay. In addition to providing a barrier between your rug and the surface below, an underlay also provides slip protection, which is particularly important in high traffic areas, and households with children. Pay particular attention to spills if you have a rug constructed of viscose, jute, or sisal. While beautiful, these materials are extremely easy to stain. If stain resistance is of the highest importance, we recommend a PP pile rug as this material has excellent stain resistance. Nu toate produsele din Album sunt disponibile permanent în fiecare magazin DIEGO. Unele magazine dispun doar de mostre din anumite produse, pe baza cărora se poate plasa comandă fermă, cu livrare din stoc central sau din stocul direct al producătorului.
